The 7th Head

Hi everyone, my thoughts today are stimulated by Sunday's service. I am looking for a way to voice what I see regarding Dan.7 and Rev.13 without being dishonorable to Bro. Farmer or anyone else who may have a different view.

The emphasis of Sunday’s message was on the kingdom being set up by the Son of Man. Which I see the same. The primary difference that I see is in regards to the papacy being the seventh head. I would like to point out that in Dan.7 it is pictured as a horn on the fourth beast and not as a separate beast. Obviously Daniel 7 and Revelation 13 are companion chapters. Revation 13 shows a beast with seven heads and ten horns.

If you count the heads prior to Daniel 7 Egypt and Assyria and add the four mentioned in Daniel 7 this makes 6 heads. Which brings me to the point I want to make and that is the seventh head is not the papacy. Rome is pictured as one head and the papacy is pictured as a horn on that head. There is an important point to be made regarding the difference between a head and a horn. And that is the relationship that theses nations have with Israel. Those pictured as a head have a direct head ship role over Israel. Those pictured as horns were strong world powers but did not have this relationship with Israel.

Leviticus 26 shows seven times punishment to Israel if they were unfaithful and I believe this is the purpose of these seven heads is to punish Israel and bring them to repentance. Which makes no sense if all seven heads have passed and 500 years latter (since the papacy) Israel has not yet repented.

However if you would consider that the head that received the deadly wound mentioned in Revelation 13 was Rome under the Caesars and that it was wounded by the ten horns mentioned in Daniel 7 and that the deadly wound was healed by the papacy. And that Rome lost its place as the sixth head by martin Luther and those early reformers. You might be able to see that we are living in the days of the seventh head and the relationship between the USA and Israel is what constitutes a headship.

There are more things to be considered like the" short space" mentioned in Revelation 17 that the seventh head must continue. This does not fit the papacy in that it had the longest rule of any of the heads. 1260 years - If what I am seeing is right then in the very near future Israel and the seventh head will suffer its final blow. This could be the second woe mentioned in Revelation 11 and behold the third woe comes quickly. The ten kings not Rome become the vehicle that the papacy uses during the last hour.

  1. Dear Brother Mark: Enjoyed the reading. Interesting take on the 7th Head. Have you considered that a more appropriate 'title' for the 'Government In Power' at the end time, in the last days, is the "Second Beast"? (Daniel 7:5, Revelations 4:7, and Revelations 6:3) This is most likely a unified World System such as the current governmental organization the "United Nations" U.N. this organization, or one like it, being the 'System'(The Second Beast) and then the seven heads on that Beast being the following... 1.Military (NATO, UNSCOM, etc.) 2.Executive (Secretary General, Security Council, etc.) 3.Economic (IMF, World Bank, etc.) 4.Industrial (Trade Agreements, Unions, Associations, etc.) 5.Social (Health Care, Relief Organizations, etc.) 6.Communications (TV, News Media, Internet, Radio, etc.) 7.Religion (World Council of Churches, Papacy, Islamic Organizations, etc.).
Let me know what you think.

  2. Great to hear from you bro.steve, I,m not sure if I'm fully understanding your thought. By referanceing the 2nd beast in Dan. 7 are you looking for a coalition (like the Meads and Persians)? Heres my take,Lets see if were close. In Dan.7 there are four beast mentioned,1.was the existing power at that time "Babalon".Important to note not just a world power but they had this place as head over Isreal. 2. Was the Meads and Persians, who interesingly enough were considered one beast though two nations were involved. 3. Greeace and 4. Rome. Is this how you see it? The point I'm makeing that to be pictured as a head on this beast in Rev. 13 you had to have this place of headship over Isreal directly. the papacy never had that because of 70 A.D.. All the nations Imentioned had this relationship. Although concored by military force at some point Isreal accepted these nations. John 19:15 the jews responded "we have no king but ceaser". This is the reason "I"and I enphasize be cause I dont want to come across in some imphatic way as If could'nt be wrong, that I see some nations pictured as heads and some pictured as horns. There is the ten kings mentioned in Rev.13 they are called the 8th and of the 7 but pictured as horns. And my reasoning is because at that time Isreal will have fulfilled the type pictured in Sampson who commited suicide while destroying the gentile powers ruleing over them. this is the fall of the seventh head and the final punishment on Isreal. This is getting lengthy, I'm sorry. Anyway I do see a coalition of nations in these ten kings at the end but I think we are still in the time of the seventh head who must rule for a "short space" Rev.17 and then the ten kings who rule for the space of one hour with the beast.

I agree with your understanding of the 7th head. In order to be a head of the dragon, it must exercise headship over Israel, do you know if it must control Mesopotamia as well? That's been on my mind since the war with Iraq began. If I am not mistaken Mesopotamia was part of the first 6 empires. Please let me know your understanding of that.
    Thanks
